γ-GT Gamma-Glutamyl Transpeptidase mainly exists in renal, pancreas, liver, spleen, intestine, brain, lung, skeletal muscle and myocardium ect. Inspecially, it exists in hepatocytes and intrahepatic bile duct epithelium of liver. Besides, γ-GT content will go high lightly when acute hepatitis, chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis appears. However, when there is a obstructive jaundice, it will reverse flow into the blood. Besides, it will be active in liver when there is a primary liver cancer. And the γ-GT content is high in alcoholic, so it is beneficial to diagnose the alcoholic liver disease as an aid.
